Our (Capacitive) Incremental measuring technology has been in use since the 1980's. Capacitive Incremental technology measures the distance it has traveled relative to a starting point. As long as the signal is not reset or interrupted (by removal of batteries, electrical motor EMI, power transients, magnetic fields, static, etc.), the position information is not lost.

Capacitive Incremental technology was used in all of the measuring systems we manufactured through 1997. We began to phase out this technology in favor or more advanced products in 2001, and final Capacitive Incremental production parts were made in 2007. These systems have been replaced by our Model 180, 280, 380 and 580 Inductive Incremental technology systems.

The aluminum extrusion for the Incremental digital scale was available in several different sizes:

0.75" wide x 0.25" thick is Model 100

2.02" wide x 0.75" thick is Model 200

0.75" wide x 0.75" thick is Model 200-S

Notice that the wire exits from the center of one side of the housing. Wire can be flat gray type or round black with shielding.
Newer models (since 2004) have black and silver labels that show the part number and serial number. A "D" in the part number indicates a "DIGI" compatible product and a gray cable. A "N" in the part number indicates a capacitive incremental compatible product with a black cable.
Cable lengths available up to 120 inches.
