ProTool

ProTool is a software program that provides measurement, calibration and cataloging for cutting tools.

Tooling measurements are supplied from a ProStand (or another ProScale equipped measurement system) and are interfaced to ProTool via a ProMux-3.  ProTool records tooling information such as feature dimensions, when and where the tooling was purchased, what machines it has been run on, the last date of sharpening (and how the tool measurements changed), and other pertinent tooling details.

A bitmap image of a tool can be used to visually display specific dimensions and/or reference points during the calibration, measurement or cataloging process.  The tooling information can easily be recalled to record new measurements of that tool (after regrinding) for production analysis, wear analysis, vendor tracking, and shop location.

Also, an entire tooling inventory can be cataloged on a central computer, which can be interfaced to multiple ProTool clients via standard Ethernet connection.

The bitmap image may be generated by AutoCAD® (and many other CAD systems) or by a screen capture program interfaced with the ProStand's color monitor.
